Pros and cons of YUBISASHI English-JAPAN touch&talk app for iPhone and iPad

YUBISASHI English-JAPAN touch&talk app good for

Im a huge fan of this book and Ive been waiting for a long time to have an iPhone app for it. The format is fantastic and the characters are great. It really is a useful book if you are stuck speaking to someone and its really easier for you to point to an image. My one complaint with this app is that they use way too much kanji. If you dont know kanji (and if youre studying Japanese, you most likely wont), its easy to pronounce the words if you can read the katakana or hiragana. When using this much kanji, youre forced to rely on the audio and then theres a chance you may mispronounce something. That really is a big disappointment. Beyond that, Im thrilled that this is finally in app form.
This application is based on the very useful Point-And-Speak phrase book, which I have used for over three years and I have found this to be something that I must have when I am out and about in Japan. I thought this app on my iPad would replace the book, but this application does not have all of the sections/pages from the book. I have used this application quit a bit. Unfortunately, I still have to grab the book, which I still carry with me. My complaint is directed more at what’s not there, which you can read about below. Overall, my ranting set aside, I recommend this app. It is clean, functions very well and is very useful. With a few more additions and improvements, this application will be sugoi! Some of the missing sections from the book are: Geography, Life In Japan, Japanese Culture & Enjoying Meals 2, which contains Vegetables & Fruits, Seafood & Meat and has helped me out tremendously when shopping. Also, the Tips on Understanding Japanese People and the English and Japanese glossary of words is missing. I hope these are added later. This app is also missing the transliteration, which has helped me out a lot with learning how to say something because there is a picture, English, Japanese and the transliteration are in the book. I am guessing they decided that the audio might replace this; however, the app reads the English and then the Japanese. It would be better if there was on option to turn off the English. I hope you enjoy this app and your travels in Japan.

Some bad moments

Update: still no updates to functionality or addition of missing sections from the book.. I have the Spain version of this app and its good except for the fact that the last pages have no color, this japan version is pretty horrible in that it says both English and Japanese. I didnt buy this app to learn how to speak english.
